Our saga with nuts continues with this next venture, a Chennai based e-commerce website called wowNutS, who give you the option of buying nuts online. In their own words, ”giving you goodness at your doorstep.”

“We saw a potential market for nuts, and also that there were not too many websites who gave people the option of buying them online.” So the team of wowNutS decided to fill this void and make nuts accessible with one click of your mouse.

wowNutS provides you with a range of nuts that you can order, such as Almonds, Cashews, Dates, Pistachios, Raisins etc. What sets them apart are their daily packs. “These packs contain a mix of nuts, in the right proportion as recommended by a nutritionist. The packs are also separately made for men, women and children. They also serve as excellent mid-day snack options.” Trying to give their customers the goodness of nuts in their most natural form, the team does not sell any flavoured products, “We are only interested in making quality products available. Our nuts are not salted or sweetened as we believe they are best when consumed as such.”

wowNutS also provides personalized gifting options. “We do corporate gift boxes and also provide gifting options for weddings. The concept of return gifts has evolved and people like gifting ideas that are different. While nuts serve as great gifting alternatives, we have also designed the boxes to look equally stylish. People really liked what we gave them.” The fact that they got requests from people who attended a wedding is proof enough for this statement. The team at wowNutS also made these gifts extra special for the bride and the groom, “for one of the weddings we added a sketch of the bride and the groom in the box saying Thank you. We want these gifts to make a lasting impression,” they add.

The gifting option has opened up new avenues for this team. “We started it as an experiment and we are happy with the response we got.” The team now is trying to provide more options to their customers. “We would like to introduce gifting options that signify an occasion or a festival. We are working on these concepts.” The team is also working on giving their customers a wider range of products and prices to choose from. “We would like customers to tell us what colours, how many slots, and what kind of nuts they need, and we should be able to give them the same.”

Ask them for advice and they give you their modest response, “We are still learning the ropes, so we do not know if we are in a position to give advice. We do believe that it is important to understand your customer and their requirements. For example, we once had someone question the number of nuts in our daily packs. We had to make them understand that there are different varieties of nuts, each of different size, so while it may seem that there are more nuts, they are in the right amount with respect to their size.” The team also believes in keeping it innovative, “you will have to keep re-inventing your business keeping your core. Add innovative ideas to keep going when there is competition.”
