Gaurav Saria, the person behind the venture, spoke to us on a busy day, which we guess is a “regular day” for him, and patiently answered our questions amidst answering questions to his staff and taking calls. He is the fourth generation to be in this business of tea plantation and retail. While the website is your gateway to a range of teas, Infinitea also has Tea Rooms where you can get a taste of the flavors in person. As their website best describes, it “is a first of a kind tea room set up in 2003 under a unique retail-restaurant concept with the objective of introducing people to the best of teas and its culture. The concept with the theme ‘from leaf to the cup’ dominant throughout, allows people to enjoy a wide variety of high-quality teas and also buy tea at the store.”
Infinitea has two tea rooms, one in Indiranagar and the other at Cunningham Road. A tea Master himself, Gaurav’s passion towards his venture is evident from the way he talks about tea and tea preparation. Hold on! If you are thinking of your hot cup of chai, think again. Gaurav is here to give you the taste of the real tea experience in all its native goodness. The range of teas that Infinitea has on its website is a testimony to this attempt. You will find exquisites like “White Tea”, “First Flush, Wonder 2015”, Herbal teas like “Strawberry Rose”, “Rooibos Chocolate Ginger”, Fruit teas like “Apricot Peach”, “ Earl Grey”…. the list is endless. While Gaurav admits that the health benefits are well known, people still find it surprising and refreshing at how good these teas taste by themselves.
It is no surprise that people have responded well to the range of “Infinitea” teas or as Gaurav puts it “tea that is served in the right way, brewed correctly”.
Infinitea does conduct tea tasting from time to time to understand customer’s tastes, however having more than a decade of experience and being a Tea Master himself, Gaurav now knows his teas better than anyone else.
Does that mean this journey has been smooth? Well, most definitely not. Supply chain issues dealing with wastage, infrastructural challenges are some of the issues that have to be dealt with every now and then. But as Gaurav elaborates, entrepreneurial journeys in the land of food and beverage is not that simple. Then what is the driving force? “Your business should improve someone’s life”, Gaurav replies. “One needs to be prepared as there are too many variables, and starting something for the right reason is important”, he adds. “Think beyond commerce and do it because you are passionate about food. Providing healthy/nutritious options to customers and value for money should be priority always”.
Infinitea now also gives you breakfast options like “eggs benedict”, “waffles with maple syrup” and other yummy options like “Papaya salad with mango carrot spring onions praline and a peanut dressing”. In case you were not sold on the tea, which I am guessing you already are.
